Origin

Rebuilding your entire being would be great, but we are not literal houses, we are products of our experiences, be they self made or happenstances. Those invasive penetrative memories play a big part in forming ourselves and our thoughts. Sure you can work on reforming your thoughts, but wrong is wrong and right is right and you can't change that. Forgiving doesn't make you forget so you do it 70 time 7 times, not for the perpetrator but for yourself. I love the idea of Rosh Hashanah, I was born on Rosh Hashanah, even on Wednesday, but after the High Holy day and throughout the next year I am who I am. I treat people the way I want to be treated and I do the best I can to live up to my convictions. Reply

I don't see the difficulty ! Rosh Hashanah by definition is a new beginning- a clean slate to tart anew. I think that this is the message of the fragment: the past is past. Rosha Hashanah is an opportunity to renew your identity and promise to yourself to follow more
of the Mitzvot and Judaism in the community- to be one step near to H'. It is wonderful that we are given a chance every year to recreate our commitments. Shana Tova u'metukah.. Reply

The Creator is not subject to time, but, He creates time, by putting in the universe moving objects in groups called galaxies: stars, planets, etc. which we can measure in relation to each other.
We who live IN the universe see time in this manner. But for the Creator, outside of “time”, it is always “Now”.
What is the difference between sleep and being awake?
When sleeping there is no awareness, so upon awakening, the difference is there is pure awareness, which swiftly changes back to the world of thought, thinking, ego, me...but if one focuses carefully one can come to realize that for us, also, there is no time at all. It is always Now. We do not live in the past, but can merely remember some of it. We do not live in the future either, not even a second, but can only imagine, calculate, fantasize the future.
So, the soul returns to its origin, in awareness of the eternal Now.
It is up to us to hold our focus on Now and observe the life around us, without thought. Reply

Not in my soul's case, because it is in continuous communication with my mind through my conscience. Were it being renewed, there would be an interval with no chance for me to get these messages. We should be very careful in making general statements about something that we can only mystically begin to follow. Reply
