Wider view The question avoided in the latest spate of violence remains - is there a way to avoid future bloody flare ups ? Big difference, most Arab countries are teaching their young to hate Jews and Hate America from the day they are born. Israel loves all children and wants peace. Baseless? Thank you Anonymous from Taiwan for bringing up the subject of Palestinian refugees in Gaza. There is a video on facebook showing how UN schools are used for fanning hatred of Israel by reminding them again and again that they lost their homes. These educators do not mention that Arab leaders were unwilling to negotiate with Israel to settle this problem. The diplomat Abba Eban said "they never miss a chance to miss a chance". For some Arabs (hopefully not all) the word 'nakba' disaster, used by Arabs to mark Israel's Independence Day, means failure to destroy Israel. Israelis recognize nakba as disaster that could be healed by negotiation, but fight those who wish to destroy Israel.

Baseless? I find it strange that people here think the hatred Gazan people have towards Israel is baseless. It's still in living memory that many of those people's families were kicked out from their villages which were razed in 1948. I'm not saying there's no hatred, but do you really think it's baseless hatred? Reply

I can just say as an analogy, maybe two of them. First: Follow Netanyahu now who would seem to be like Churchill for WWII. Fight don't wag tongues, and give up vital, life giving avenues for Medinat Israel to Survive...like the British "wuss", Chamberlain did against Europe in late 1930's. Follow the Star of David Ben Gurion and those who brought Israel into real adulthood as a determined, full-fledged State..!!! Wake up to reality, stop dreaming of " If I be nice to him, He'll be nice to me" Doesn't work that way, doesn't follow! Yes, of course we will pray,but that doesn't stop anti-Semitism as evidenced in N. tunnels The BBC has just launched an appeal to give aid to the Palestinian "refugees" . Hard to believe but true. Will they be broadcasting an appeal to help Israel pay for iron dome missiles to defend Israel (according to the BBC the US gives them to Israel free-yet another anti Israel untruth). The terror tunnels could have been used to shelter the poor old refugee population from harm I suppose but in fact the population is used to shelter the terror tunnels (and missiles) from Israel. Warmongers There is no such thing as warmongers when a country defends itself from rough elements. Proportionality and Hypocracy Most of the media in Western Europe accuse Israel of using disproportional force in an attempt of stop the attacks on Israel ,resulting in deaths of innocent civilians in Gaza , I see this attitude as hypocritical - I did not hear cries of dis-proportionality in the recent wars waged by the west against Muslim countries.- only of "collateral" damage"
However It is painful for me as a Jew to see Israel acting like "the Nations" .
Politically too Israel should have reduced the effect of negative PR by showing us solid evidence of Hamas using human shields obtained from aerial surveillance etc. .I have not seen any. Unfortunately too there maybe political advantages to be gained by both sides in the conflict. I am pessimistic as irreconcilable emotions are involved and emotions are not subject to reason. Reply

For the people of Gaza, which is thousands of years old, have suffered tremendous pain and loss as a result of a manipulative and evil conflict created against Israel due to pure, baseless hatred. Yet today's modern Israel is composed of Jews and non-Jews alike, all having an equal voice in its government.
