State Of Maryland Vouchers
The State of Maryland’s Child Care Subsidy (CCS) Program provides school vouchers for income-eligible families. Income-eligible families must apply for vouchers before tuition assistance can be provided.
Child Care Scholarship Freeze
As of May 1, 2025, the Child Care Scholarship (CCS) Program has temporarily stopped issuing scholarships to new families. We encourage families to still apply and join the waitlist.
As of July 1, 2026:
The Child Care Scholarship Program continues to operate with a waitlist because demand exceeds available funding. However, as of July 1, 2026, MSDE has begun awarding scholarships to a small number of families on the waitlist as spaces become available. Additionally, families who are experiencing homelessness will now be eligible to receive a scholarship if they meet all other program rules, as a result of a new state law.
