Thousands of Chabad-Lubavitch emissaries assembled at the Ohel in Queens, New York, the resting place of the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, on Friday morning, marking the pinnacle of the 42nd International Conference of Chabad-Lubavitch Emissaries.
The emissaries, part of a global network of over 6,000 Chabad couples representing Jewish communities from every U.S. state and more than 100 countries, came to pray for their families, communities and humanity at large. They carried with them thousands of prayer requests from people around the world, placing handwritten letters and personal notes seeking blessings from their communities around the world.
As emissaries waited in line outside the Ohel, they recited tehillim (Psalms) and studied the Rebbe’s teachings.
The visit culminated in the reading of the pan klali, the general letter that was signed by all emissaries and contained prayers for the Land of Israel, the Jewish people and humanity at large.
The rabbis are in New York for the annual conference, which runs from Nov. 12 through Nov. 17. It features workshops, inspirational talks, Shabbat experiences, and the visit to the Ohel. The conference concludes on Sunday with a gala banquet.
