The preschool curriculum is based on the Jewish calendar year. It highlights Yomim Tovim, Judaic concepts, and the wonderful world Hashem created as the basis for our exploration. Children actively learn the Parsha each week and are guided in aleph-beis and Hebrew reading. All concepts are taught infused with the timeless messages of Torah and Chassidus.

The curriculum is implemented through developmentally appropriate practice focusing on the social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and creative development of each child. In addition to our foundation of Gan, we utilize Teaching Strategies Creative Curriculum to support the whole child learning process.

Some of the objectives of the Gan program are:

  • To provide a setting in which your child will feel safe and loved

  • To develop a strong sense of Jewish community and belonging among the children, their families, and our staff, as they participate in the life of our school

  • For the children to develop confidence in themselves as competent individuals and as learners

  • To provide an environment in which the key processes of early childhood, social and emotional development, are nurtured and the building blocks for healthy growth are the focus of concern

  • To use your child’s interests and experiences as the basis for learning and activities

  • To help your child develop a love for learning; a love that is deep, wide, and ever-growing

  • To provide opportunities for your child to learn academic skills through day-to-day activities and through interactive experiences with peers and adults

  • To encourage your child’s love for books and foster the pre-reading skills appropriate to his/her stage of development

  • To provide opportunities for your child to make discoveries and to use them in learning

  • To develop your child’s problem-solving abilities

  • To encourage your child’s creativity and artistic expression

  • To encourage your child to ask questions, which will be answered sincerely and honestly
